MIKE WHITAKER - PRESIDENT
Born and raised in Brigham City, Utah, Michael is the younger of two brothers that have chosen to work in a family owned Construction business. He is a graduate of Box Elder High School, and Utah State University. While attending Utah State, Michael was an active member of Sigma Chi fraternity, where he served as House Manager, Pro Consul, and Consul. Currently, he serves the fraternity by participating on the Alumni House Board. While earning a degree in Finance and minors in Economics and Sociology, Michael met the love of his life Chalet Schaeffer. From this bond they have three children. Michael has welcomed the challenges of raising his children. He is passionate about hunting, fishing, skiing, and golf.
Michael is currently the Vice President of Operations at Whitaker Construction Co., Inc. He considers himself fortunate to have worked along side many people that he manages today. The lessons of hard work and integrity learned during his early years help him maintain focus
on giving his very best, regardless of the outcome.

DAN BEATTY - CHAIR ELECT
Heidi Scott has worked for Wadman Corporation since 2004, where she is the Accounts Receivable Manager & an Executive Assistant. Wadman gave her the opportunity to attend Rapport Int'l Leadership classes in 2005 and become a Master Grad and an Eagle Quest Warrior. She is thrilled to serve on the Building Utah Youth Board, as she knows this adventure will cultivate a refreshing level of energy and excitement she embraces. She is a supporter of pouring life skills into teens that launch them to the next level. She is graciously thankful for this opportunity. Givers truly Gain! HEIDI SCOTT - SECRETARY
Jamie has been involved with Building Utah Youth since 2014. She is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of her family and others. She believes the youth are our future and plans to work closely with them to provide them with lifelong Leadership Skills.
JAMIE JOHNSTON - DIRECTOR
John (JJ) Chojnowski's first priority is his family. He is passionate about his wife Heather and his daughter Bryndon. Currently working in the steel industry, he has over 19 years of experience including, sales and purchasing. He is currently employed in Ogden, Utah at O’Neal Flat Rolled Metals in outside sales. JJ has a Bachelors degree in Technical Sales from Weber State University and is a proud graduate of leadership breakthrough at Rapport International.
JJ was nominated to the board of directors of Building Utah Youth in October 2014. He is extremely humbled about the opportunity to help our Utah teens grow into great adult leaders.
Over the last three years, JJ has been committed to writing a book on overeating and is excited about the launch in April 2015. This book will help people control their overeating, what he calls “Trigger Foods." His overall focus in life is to inspire others to reach their full potential and not settle. His ultimate goal is to help everyone see that the best is yet to come.
Brett grew up in West Point Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1997. Soon after he started a carrier in Concrete pumping and in 2006 started Frontline concrete pumping. Brett attended LB1 in 2007 and became a Master Graduate in 2008. In 2012 he began training for Rapport Leadership international and is currently a master trainer. Brett has been married to Jamie since 2002 and is a proud father of their 3 children; Haegan, Peyton and Diesel.

Rebecca has a strong passion and drive for giving of service to others. She has a thirst for knowledge, loves educating, and empowering other to enrich their lives.
Rebecca leads by example and is consistently self-driven. She is so enthused to be involved with the Youth Board and Youth Impact Committees. Rebecca’s vision for Building Utah Youth is to continue to empower other to realize that they can choose to improve their lives by making conscious choices. Break through any walls that are holding them back to move forward with life.

My name is Angie Simpson. I am a mother to three amazing children and two dogs. I am a special education teacher in the Davis school district. I enjoy hiking, camping with the family, going to the sand dunes, reading or anything that has to do with being active and being outdoors. I love being on the board of Building Utah Youth because giving back is a very important part of my life.
Hannah Terry is a Building Utah Youth teen graduate from summer 2011, and has been involved ever since. She is our Youth Board coordinator. She has worked at Staker Parson Co. for over 4 years, her best friend is her dog Soja, and she enjoys all things outdoors.

For over 14 years, Adam Wilson has been helping people with their dream of homeownership. With 17+ years of financial experience, and an excited, knowledgeable team behind him, Adam loves what he does for a living, and gets excited every day at the possibility of helping someone achieve their dream.
In his spare time, Adam is involved in the non-profit organization, Building Utah Youth, a program he helped create in 2007. He is also a master graduate of Rapport Leadership International School of Leadership Development, and when he finds time, he loves to snowmobile, hunt, fish and be outdoors.
Adam has been married for 17 years, and he and his wife, Kelli, have 6 beautiful children.

Kaydee Sorensen earned her Master Grad from Rapport in 2006. She has proudly supported Building Utah Youth since it was started. She is determined to expand the reach of the BUY and and Teen Leadership to create and impact in multiple communities.
Kaydee is a permanent makeup artist and lives in Herriman with her Husband of 10 years, twin boys who are 8, and daughter Hazel who is 1.
My name is Jamie Doak. I have been married to my best friend Tucker since November of 1998 and together we have three amazing kids. McKlay, Tucker and Rylan.
I am the Office Manager for Dr. Andre' Malan at Malan Heights Dental and I love my job and those I work with. I am a graduate of Rapport LB1 and Power Communication and look forward to joining my husband and the others as a Master Graduate after I complete LB2.
I enjoy working with multiple foundations that help others. Along with Building Utah's Youth I serve on the committee for the Weber School District Christmas Tree Jubilee, Better Bacon Bureau for Weber County 4-H. My dream job (other than being a Mom) would be a humanitarian work in a different country.
I love the farm life, showing fair animals with my children, dancing, camping, and time spent with family and friends.
I am honored to be part of this wonderful organization that gives back. I look forward to being able to see the RIPPLE EFFECT for many years to come.
Chief Operating Officer (COO), Global Health Industries
Bret Lewis serves as the Director of Operations for Global Health Industries. He began his manufacturing career over 29 years ago. He has enjoyed directing multiple production facilities in an international environment and has been sought after for consulting in process improvement. Bret's primary experiences include exercise science, nutrition and the biotechnology industry. At Global Health Industries his primary responsibilities include maintenance, warehousing, shipping, production and research/development. He specializes in cGMP/ISO, PPI, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Setup Reduction Kaizen, and Production Management Kaizen. Outside of work, Bret is a husband, father and a new grandfather. He has coached many sports, but has a love for baseball. He is an avid Atlanta Braves fan and has traveled to watch them play. He enjoys spending time with family and volunteering for his church and community. Lastly, he has completed LB1, Power Communication and Eagle Quest. Bret has also served on team for LB1, Power Communication and Teen LB1.
I have been involved with BUY ever since my husband, Adam, helped create it in 2007. I am super excited to finally be on the actual Building Utah Youth board! I love the youth and work with them in several different ways. I especially enjoy witnessing the amazing things that go on each Summer as groups of them go through the Youth Leadership Breakthrough. I became a Master Graduate of Rapport Leadership International in 2007 and have appreciated the ways it has blessed my life since.
I've been married to Adam for 19 years and we have 6 wonderful children who teach us everyday. My life revolves around my family and that is where I find my greatest joy. I also enjoy scrapbooking, card making, decorating, fishing, sea shelling and any other thing that involves family time!
